The Breakthrough Fund for Patient Care:
Positive Health Program

The Positive Health Program at San Francisco General Hospital provides care to more than 3,200 patients annually, and that number is growing by an average of 10 per week, usually the most underserved among us. Treatments are more complicated than ever and are taken longer, adding to the cost. Your gift will help us meet these growing needs by bridging the funding gap caused by shrinking support from government sources and private research grants. As the primary county hospital, San Francisco General will not turn away patients, regardless of their ability to pay. Here at the epicenter of the epidemic, we have forged a standard of HIV/AIDS care that is recognized for excellence around the world. Through our publications and electronic communications, the results of our clinical observations and research continue to influence the direction of HIV treatment, care, and prevention well beyond San Francisco.
